At my retreats, from 3 day events to 9 day intensive retreats, I have been dubbed 'the spiritual samurai' or an 'angel with a sword'. It is true, and it is from the heart.
Soon I will be scheduling both short and long retreats here in Ventura and welcome you to more of your freedom. I have had a tremendous 2 years of change, health recovery from cancer--all is well, moves, travel and more. Now that I am settled and have a beautiful environment in which to give what I have, in small venues...I will post when the schedule is set.
When Adyashanti gave me the name Viveka a decade ago, he also said..."Viveka, you are a thunderbolt, like me". This has proven to be true which is why I continue to have only SMALL retreats and group work. It is deep and no-nonsense. If you are serious about your awakening and enlightenment, and your courage to live a more awakened life...you are going to be happy you came. It is love's embrace with a sword that rarely cuts--but it is sharp and does cut where it is needed for your clarity.
However, my fire, and passion, is for YOUR freedom...and I want that more for you, than you do. There is NO time to waste. It is NOW. I do NOT tell you where you are, what you feel, or what I think needs to be let go of...that is not my business...I guide you to find this answer for your freedom. This is not therapy, but deep introspection for clarity and the release happens on its own. This is NOT technique or method...it is simply Truth cutting away what is untruth that you hold for your suffering and separation.
Since July 1984, my most unexpected opening to who and what I am, and even more deeply in India, in 1997, I am no longer seeking and have not for many years--and I will support and serve you, too, to let go of the 'game of seeking' and the mis-identification of someone who is a 'seeker'. It is foolish, and wastes much time. It is time to love, to awaken, to come back to your own Self.

My love for SRF and Paramahansa Yogananda, Jesus, the Christ, Sri Ramana Maharshi, and Sri Nisargadatta have guided this life. This is the place from which I guide my students. I have had the joy of being guided, and corrected in my view, by many masters around the world. My intention is to serve only that Truth. My voice, my lips, my tongue, my eyes, my body and my soul...it is for Truth to use me well.
I welcome students from all world religions, for this is not about religion, it is about LOVE...the foundation of all truth, religion, and spiritual teaching. We must move beyond all teachings, scriptures, and intellectual knowledge, in order to truly surrender into what all of these sacred texts are actually pointing to. This will not challenge what you believe, the path you are on, or the spiritual journey. or teachers you have followed to date..but it will challenge that which is between you and having it living YOU.
If you think you 'have arrived' somewhere special...this retreat is for you. If you are stuck in ANY way....COME!
You can dialogue with me, say whatever is necessary as I work individually with each participant, and this is for it to be cleared, and healed from your own heart. Or you can simply remain silent most of the time and work within. It is up to you and you NEVER need to share anything you do not want to share.
A RETREAT IS AN ISLAND FOR YOU TO SURROUND YOURSELF WITH LOVING SUPPORT.
This isn't a 'group experience' but a private one, just for you, IN a small group. There is a difference. In one retreat in Austin, Texas, ALL of the participants were from a different spiritual teacher or master. We are all one...but what prevents you from recognizing that, and surrendering into it, is what is focused upon here. We must STOP, and SEE, and only then can we begin to Self-recognize.
We, our seeking, our grasping, striving, and our belief that we have to change, or be better, or do something special in order to recognize our True Nature, is a deception. Self doesn't need improving...we need to drop what is in the way of simply recognizing what we are.

I have nothing at stake, but to serve you, and your awakening. I am direct, and focused, and it is a no-nonsense process, when you are fighting for your freedom. I align with you.
There is a gentle, yet powerful process that happens from the moment you register to attend a retreat. Over the years, that has always been my own experience, and those of my brothers and sisters of Truth.

I know what it takes, and there is nothing more important to have true compassion just for yourself...to be free. I also know that what is often given as guidance is making people more ignorant, and the real story of the 'fire of Truth...for the awakening heart' is rarely shared.
Those I have studied with and been guided by are authentic, and my models, so being described as 'the spiritual samurai' is correct. I do not apologize for it, nor does it matter if anyone agrees or disagrees with me. I am here for you---love on the edge of a sharp blade. began very young, as my own mother was my very first Zen warrior teacher.
